Iowa State University Announces Spring 2025 George Washington Carver Research Internship

Iowa State University is pleased to announce a significant update to the George Washington Carver Research Internship Program. Beginning in Spring 2025, this prestigious internship will transition from a summer experience to a full semester opportunity, enhancing research engagement for undergraduate students. This program is not open to Iowa State University students.

Program Overview

The George Washington Carver Research Internship offers students the chance to:

  • Conduct impactful research alongside experienced faculty mentors.
  • Explore diverse food systems, agricultural processes, and the local food industry.
  • Receive personalized guidance to navigate challenges and develop skills.
  • Participate in professional development workshops to enhance career prospects.

Financial Support

Participants will receive:

  • An $8,000 stipend
  • A minimal travel allowance

Eligibility and Application Process

To apply, students must:

  1. Be enrolled in the Iowa State National Student Exchange program.
  2. Complete the internship application.
  3. Submit two letters of recommendation as PDF files to Jessica Rodman at jmrodman@iastate.edu.

Housing Information

Students are responsible for securing their own housing, with on-campus options available through the National Student Exchange program.This transition aims to foster greater faculty involvement and stimulate student interest in research during the academic semester.
