Chemurgy 2.0 EWD Seed Funding Program: Round 2 Launching Summer 2025

We are excited to announce the launch of Round 2 of the Chemurgy 2.0 Education & Workforce Development (EWD) Seed Funding Program, supporting innovative projects that advance biomanufacturing education and workforce development across Iowa.
Applications open by July 1, 2025, and are due August 4, 2025.

This round, up to $100,000 will be awarded to 6-10 projects. Applicants can request up to $5,000 for mini-grants or up to $15,000 for Impact Projects. We encourage proposals that engage high school, community college, or undergraduate students, as well as faculty and industry partners, and that align with one or more Chemurgy 2.0 technical focus areas: Plastics for Additive Manufacturing, Fibers for Flexible and Rigid Materials, or Proteins for Diagnostics and Therapeutics.

Eligible applicants include Iowa-based educational institutions, governmental organizations, and nonprofits. All projects must demonstrate a clear connection to Chemurgy 2.0’s vision of meeting human needs through biomanufacturing and support the development of a diverse, skilled workforce.
